8 Before Ava are a hard-edged contemporary blues band from Birmingham, UK. Taking their cue from the classic electric blues bands of the late 60’s and early 70’s, and from the contemporary sounds of modern blues acts like Gary Clarke Jr and Rival Sons, the four-piece band are building a growing following with their incendiary live performances of original material.
The band are no strangers to live performance and hard work - all four members have toured globally as professional ballet dancers. Comprised of Miles Gilliver (Guitar, Vocals, Harmonica), Max Maslen (Guitar), Kit Holder (Bass) and Lawrence Massie (Drums), their first songs were written backstage in theatre dressing rooms and went on to form the backbone of their ever-growing live set.
